i'm so proud of my big boy. he's really learning how to read! he's so smart. yes, i'm bragging. tonight he read to me, some pages from hop on pop.
here is the list:
hop, pop, stop, cup, pup, all, small, tall, ball, wall, fall, jim, see, bee, tree, red, bed, ted, ed, pat, sat, cat, bat, sad, dad, bad, had, walk, fast, wet, get
he even picked out a comma and told me it pauses. he picked out a period and said that stops!
wow!!
what a breakthrough.
now we are working on the concept of Jesus being in the Eucharist. He talks about Jesus in our soul in relation to Jesus' Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Eucharist. I'm going to see if the Who Am I? book has a lesson on that so I can help him out. My explanations aren't working yet. He wants to receive Jesus, but I've explained he has to wait until he's older. :)

Isn't it the most exciting thing? I can't even imagine missing out on this kind of stuff by sending my kids to an institutional school.
Have you tried the 'Bob' books or the CHC little readers? Christian LOVES the Bob books and can read a whole book by himself now. Sarah actually loves the CHC ones better... and I love how they add our Catholic faith into it too.
As to receiving Jesus...I'm having a really hard time with Christian at Mass. Sarah wants to receive too, but can understand better why she has to wait...Christian however just takes a hissy fit.
