Layed-back and late

Today was an extremely tiresome day. The past few nights have been sleep-deprived. But we started "formal" preschool today. We have been reading books and doing unstructured things. However, today we talked at length about the lesson plan. We practiced letter and number writing. Colored a picture of an Angel that went with the lesson and had fun making hand prints!

Tonight we will read our books before bed. My goal this evening is to take the kids outside to play, do our errands and take my son to the library with me. Then, I'm heading straight to sleep. :)

I'm so proud of my son. He is learning how to follow instructions from the teacher (me). We talked about homeschooling because he thought he was going to get on a bus with a backpack and go to school somewhere else. We also talked about how mommy is the teacher. My daughter did a lot of drawing, and "wrote" a few letters. But we mainly worked on her color recognition and she thoroughly enjoyed her messy hand prints.

Overall, I thank God for this wonderful gift to be with my children, and that they are safe at home with me. It is so amazing and beautiful to have the confidence of a child. A true gift. I feel homeschooling is going to make us a stronger family unit, rooted in the Lord.

With love,
Melanie
