Happy Anniversary, Darling

This month we have celebrated our 5yr Wedding Anniversary. As I look back on the whirlwind of the past five years, (where I jokingly tell you, my dear husband, that it feels like twenty) I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the beauty and grace in our marriage. The Lord alone is responsible for that. And I praise Him for His goodness. His compassion and deep love for us. His providence and mercy.

I clearly remember standing at the altar and promising to welcome our children graciously from the Lord, and to raise them in the Faith. Five babies in five years certainly attests that we are keeping that promise. None of that would be possible with God's grace in our everyday life. He is, after all, the third Person in our marriage.

We have promised to love one another and we make that act of the will, everyday.

Also, our marriage has been blessed by the support and love of those around us. Both sides of our family, the priest who married us, our parish, our friends... As much as we are held up in public as an example of God at work in our lives, these people have brought God to us in a tangible and real way. They have helped our marriage to grow, and always closer to God.

Do you see a theme here? The Sacrament of Marriage, the fruit of our love, the support of those around us... all have led us closer to Him. Which is what this vocation is all about, the ultimate goal of our lives.

So, Darling. May all our years together be just as beautiful and full of grace as our years past. We don't know what is in store. But our prayers will see us through. Let us not take anything for granted. Yet, rely on and revel in God's infinite goodness.

God bless you.

With all the pieces of my heart,

Your Devoted Wife
